Gamebirds  are delicious and gorgeous, but
too often the beauty is thrown out or put in a man cave or garage!

Repurpose the Hunt
Save it, Eat it and Use it.

Taxidermy and Feathers can be an elegant home addition.

Use pheasant feathers in candle sticks in place of candles.

Take taxidermy to the dinner table to complete the theme, add a feather on the napkin.

Eldena at Santa Ana Hunting Area (Texas) skinned some pheasants for me after our hunt and gave me instructions for tanning them.

I hope to make mine look like the hanging game shown here. One other I used whole in our Fall wreath, with  hen and cock tail feathers (and a turkey or two) with gold leafed antlers.

How about an old duck call on a lampshade, it is a good place to show off leg bands too.
Group your taxidermy on top of bookcases & cabinets with a little greenery, in the book shelf and top of the clock!

My goal is to help bridge the gap between the shared
Hunter/non-Hunter Home

It is so easy to bring home tail feathers, the cape might take a little more work or have your taxidermist do it while he is mounting one of your trophies.

A New Type of Hunting Show

By Pastor
So, I'm all for great shows that have to do with hunting, fishing and anything that has to do with the outdoors. I enjoy partaking of the canned adventures that are shown on different outdoor networks. I especially enjoy the shows that have to do with hunting out west for big Mulies or Elk and also shows that have to do with wonderful upland hunting. They really get my blood moving.

Recently I saw a preview for a new show that was coming out, and I have to say that it really did intrigue me. It's a show entitled "Wild Justice" on the National Geographic Channel. The premise for the show is quite intriguing. It takes place in the wilderness area's and even city areas of Northern California. We get to follow different California Game Wardens as they track down poachers, Marijuana "Grows", and other violaters of California Game Regulations and laws.

It intrigued me so I watched it. And I have to say that it was very entertaining. I found myself rooting for the wardens, that they would catch the bad guys. And most often they did. We need to bag the poachers who make such a bad name for hunters in America and put them behind bars. One of the wardens expressed his passion and desire to cathc the "bad guys" and "Roll in their gut pile". Great description of passion and that passion reveals to me just how much they care about our wildlife and hunting.

The wardens are hunters. Probably some of the greatest trackers and hunters who know their game better than any hunters around today. They hunt other hunters who hunt illegally. You have to understand that the Game Wardens are not against hunting. Infact, many of them hunt themselves. What they are fighting against are those who hunt illegally and pose a danger to the wildlife population, and other people. Impressive stuff if you ask me.

I think that Game Wardens often have a bad rap for cracking down on hunters and fisherman. But you have to remember that they are just doing their job. An important job. A dangerous job. So that you and I, who adhere to all Fish and Game Regulations, and our children, have wildlife to hunt in the future.
